Some quantitative aspects of P magnetic resonance spectroscopy in vivo in an exercise physiology context

چکیده
Phosphorous NMR spectroscopy (PMRS) has become a very important tool in biological research, since it allows non-invasive recording of essential features of tissue energy metabolism at a high time resolution. Here I present some of the concepts and key features of the technique as applied to human skeletal muscle with physical exercise as the main principle of intervention. Key-words: PMRS, skeletal muscle, human, energy metabolism

Assessment of Cerebellar Metabolites Levels in Athletes Compared to Non-Athlete by Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy
Background: Adaptability to exercise training can increase the plasticity of the brain, and whether this can be due to a beneficial change in the neurometabolites, is uncertain. The purpose of this study was to evaluate basal metabolic concentrations of cerebellum, including N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) and Cholin(Cho) in athletes and compare them with non-athlete subjects. Materials and Methods: I...
متن کاملMRI/MRS assessment of in vivo murine cardiac metabolism, morphology, and function at physiological heart rates.
Transgenic mice are increasingly used to probe genetic aspects of cardiovascular pathophysiology. However, the small size and rapid rates of murine hearts make noninvasive, physiological in vivo studies of cardiac bioenergetics and contractility difficult. The aim of this report was to develop an integrated, noninvasive means of studying in vivo murine cardiac metabolism, morphology, and functi...
متن کاملDetection of Glioblastoma Multiforme Tumor in Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Based on Support Vector Machine
Introduction: The brain tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue in the brain, which is one of the most important challenges in neurology. Brain tumors have different types. Some brain tumors are benign and some brain tumors are cancerous and malignant. Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) is the most common and deadliest malignant brain tumor in adults. The average survival rate for peo...
متن کاملApplication of Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in Neurocognitive Assessment After Head Injury: A Systematic Review
Background: Traumatic brain injury is believed to be a public health disorder with some complications. Post Traumatic Neurocognitive Disorders (PTND) received much attention among these complications because of the high prevalence of mild traumatic brain injuries. On the other hand, advanced neuroimaging is increasingly becoming an exciting modality in the field of traumatic brain injury. Magne...
متن کاملpH heterogeneity in tibial anterior muscle during isometric activity studied by (31)P-NMR spectroscopy.
The occurrence of pH heterogeneity in human tibial anterior muscle during sustained isometric exercise is demonstrated by applying (31)P-nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy in a study of seven healthy subjects. Exercise was performed at 30 and 60% of maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) until fatigue. The NMR spectra, as localized by a surface coil and improved by proton irradiation, w...
